Sport Premium

School Vision

We will strive to create an exciting and inspirational environment for children to engage in school sport. Over time the school will encourage our children to take part in lifelong sport and physical activity, reducing some of the risks of illness in later life.

What is the Sports Premium?

Back in 2012 the government announced it was to spend over £450 million on improving physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools over the 3 academic years 2013 to 2014, 2014 to 2015 and 2015 to 2016. A further amount was pledged to take the primary school sport premium up to the 2020 Olympics, to help secure the legacy from London 2012.
The funding is to go directly to the primary schools.
Schools can choose how they use the funding, for example to:

The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

How will we be spending the Sports Funding and who will benefit?

The Governors agree that the money must be used so that all children benefit regardless of sporting ability and that staff have access to training opportunities and continued professional development.

At William Stukeley CE Primary School we believe that this funding will allow us to enhance our P.E. provision further. It will be used to:

We will evaluate the impact of our funding use throughout the school year to monitor pupil progress and value for money.
